HOME GOODS AND FUNCTIONAL WARES
Some of the functional wares and home goods I have designed. These products are all designed and created soley by me, based on my original designs.
Cat Pipe
The Cat Pipe is one of my best selling items in my ceramics shop. I designed this item from scratch, starting with a few sketches to work out different variations on the design.

After settling on the final design, I created a handmade prototype to get a sense for size, feel, and consumer interest. After constructing the inital prototype, I decided to make some changes to make the design more friendly to mold making and mass production.

I created a 3D model of the cat pipe design with some changes to make it more conducive to casting, including a more integrated, lower profile tail, and adjusted the angles of the curves to avoid undercuts. I had this model 3D printed, and made molds to cast the finished pieces.

Sculptural Lamp
A handsculpted ceramic lamp. My goal was to create a whimsical and elegant design which would cast a warm glow and feel friendly and fantastical. Since my design featured an exposed bulb, the fixture is dimmable.
I designed this piece from scratch, starting with a couple very simple sketches to work out the pose and general feel of the creature. Because this is an art item not meant to be mass produced, I moved forward right away with producing the final piece out of clay instead of creating a 3D modeled mockup.

"Sea Flap Flap" Wall Hook
A ceramic wall hook modeled after sea rays. The hook attaches to the wall via nail and keyhole cut out. These pieces are cast in porcelain and are ideal for hanging keys, masks, and other light items, but are strong enough to support light jackets and bags.
Initial handsculpted prototype
Since these pieces were designed to be cast and reproduced, I created a 3D model after my handsculpted prototype. From there, a mold was produced and the final products were cast.
